- How does On-Campus Recruiting work?
- Each year, employers visit campus to interview students for internships and full-time positions. On-Campus Recruiting is managed through an online system called Duke eRecruting. Your first step to participating in On-Campus Recruiting is to complete the orientation on Blackboard. Please see the directions on our website under the "Undergraduates" tab.
- What kind of employers recruit on campus?
- You will find that a variety employers visit campus to recruit new employees. Career fields most often represented include education, health care, nonprofit, engineering, technology, and the financial sector.
- What is appropriate interview attire?
- Dress professionally. We recommend a dark colored suit. with accessories and fragrance kept at a minimum. Put extra effort into the details of your appearance before an interview.
- What if employers I’m interested in don’t recruit on campus?
- On-Campus Recruiting represents only one way a select group of organizations hire new employees. You should not limit your job search to only On-Campus Recruiting. Other ways to find a job include internet job boards, Career Fairs, and of course NETWORKING. Meet with a career counselor to devise a strategy for conducting a thorough and effective job search.
- What if I miss a deadline?

When participating in On Campus Recruiting, it’s your
responsibility to keep track of all deadlines for resume
submissions and interview sign-ups. If you miss a deadline,
contact the organization directly to inquire about how you can
proceed in the hiring process.
- Who can participate in On Campus Recruiting?
- Any full-time Duke undergraduate or student in the Graduate School who is in good standing is eligible to participate in On Campus Recruiting.
