Mock Interviews

Virginia Steinmetz offers interview coaching and/or conduct mock interviews for academic employment or positions in business, non-profit organizations or government agencies. This service is an excellent opportunity to

• Research your potential employer,
• Articulate your graduate research interests and skills,
• Practice fielding questions, and
• Build confidence

Videotaping is available on request.

Appointments for coaching or a mock interview for an upcoming telephone, on-campus or off-campus interview should be made at least a day in advance through the Career Center receptionist at 660-1050.

A coaching session provides guidance for preparing for an interview while a mock interview is a simulation of the anticipated interview. Mock interviews should not be arranged at the Career Center until you have an interview date for a specific position and with a specific employer. Dress to mirror the dress code of the organization.

At least a day in advance of your appointment, please send the following materials to Dr. Steinmetz via campus mail, CC drop off or email attachment:

• Your CV or resume
• Your cover letter
• A copy of the position announcement
